in Paint Shop Pro. Completely Translatable to GIMP and Photoshop, I do believe.
I forgot where I got all of the images and textures, so if you could PLEASE inform me, I would be forever grateful!

First, edit out the background of your image so it's transparent and shrink it if needed.
You'll wind up with something like [This]
Set [this] texture by ??? as the background behind your base image.
Write whatever text you want and place it next, I used 8C2D08 for my text.
Place [this] texture by ??? and set it to Darken 100%
Then, set [this] texture by ??? and set it to Darken 100% as well.
Duplicate your Base and bring it to the top. Set it to Soft Light 100%
Duplicate it again, bring it to the top, and set it to Soft Light 100% (again)... And you're done!
