1. First, take this swirl thing by me:

and set it as the background.
2. Duplicate it and set it to Multiply.

3. Then, set this:

to Color Legacy. (It's hue #F68C8C)

4. Now, take your character and get rid of all of the background parts and make it transparent, like I did with Pit here:

Paste that into your file and set it to Normal.
5. Duplicate it and set it to Soft Light.

6. Next, take this (by me):

and set it to normal. (You have to erase the white part, sorry. I didn't make it transparent. </333 )
7. Duplicate your character and bring it to the top. Set it to Overlay.

Add text and your done. =]
